Tristan welcomes you to his coal-fired forge for a one-to-one introduction. He begins by explaining the basic concepts of steelwork and safety instructions, before handing out protective equipment. After discovering the relationship between metal colours and working temperatures, you can familiarise yourself with the material, the heat, the tools... and how it feels! Once you're comfortable and confident, you'll carry out all the stages of making a forged bottle opener yourself: from heating the raw steel bar to personalising the object. Tristan will guide and accompany you throughout the workshop.
