Mountain Bike Route No. 13 – La Véroce

Set off on a superb mountain bike loop between Saint-Nicolas de Véroce, Mont Joux and Lac de Joux. With spectacular views of Mont Blanc and a thrilling descent down the Wizz, this route promises fun and excitement in the mountains.

Starting from Saint-Nicolas de Véroce, this mountain bike route takes you to Lac de Joux via the Plateau de la Croix and Mont Joux. Throughout the ride, enjoy exceptional panoramic views of the Val Montjoie, the Aravis, the Fiz and the Mont Blanc massif.

The route begins with a gradual climb along wide 4x4 tracks leading to Lac de Joux. After this scenic ascent, enjoy a dynamic descent on the La Wizz mountain bike trail, alternating between banked bends and smoother sections.

To finish the ride, head towards Les Chattrix via the undulating multi-use track before returning at a leisurely pace to Saint-Nicolas de Véroce by road.

Starting point: Saint-Nicolas de Véroce

From Saint-Nicolas de Véroce, take the Route de la Croix towards the Plateau de la Croix.

Follow the 4x4 track towards the top of the Chattrix chairlift.

Then follow the 4x4 track towards the top of the Croix du Christ chairlift.

Take the gently sloping path down towards Lac de Joux.

From Lac de Joux, take the path towards the summit of Mont Joux, then head back down towards Mont d’Arbois, passing behind the Refuge Chez La Tante.

For the descent, take the Wizz.

Once at the junction with the multi-use track, take the track on the right towards Les Orgères, then on to the Plateau de la Croix.

At the Plateau de la Croix, continue towards Les Chattrix via Les Truz.

From Les Chattrix, the return to Saint-Nicolas de Véroce is via the Route de Saint-Nicolas.
