Description

Starting May 1, Le Château is delighted to launch a summer season steeped in the spirit of dreams. Four exhibitions celebrate the unique worlds of four artists from different generations.
Artist's details : - Gilbert Garcin Originally from La Ciotat, Gilbert Garcin (1929-2020) had a long career running a lighting company before dedicating himself to photography in the early 1990s. This retrospective offers an immersion into a visual universe imbued with humor, fiction, and dreams, where Mister G, the artist’s fictional alter ego, takes center stage. In his poetic and surreal compositions, Gilbert Garcin explores the great questions of human existence with both depth and simplicity. - Corentin Grossmann Born in 1980 in Metz, Corentin Grossmann lives and works in Mons, Belgium. This solo exhibition invites viewers to delve into the artist’s chimerical and abundant universe. His practice moves between meticulous drawings and seemingly naïve ceramics. Drawing inspiration from popular culture, current events, and representations of past civilizations, he creates dreamlike landscapes inhabited by hybrid beings and fragmented bodies. - Sabine Moritz Born in 1969 in Quedlinburg (formerly East Germany), Sabine Moritz lives and works in Cologne, Germany. This first monographic exhibition in a French institution highlights the richness of her work around a recent body of abstract paintings. Abstraction, which appeared in her work in 2015, is in dialogue with older, sometimes figurative works, revealing the depth of the artist’s approach. - Ella Walker Exhibited for the first time in a French institution, the world of Ella Walker, born in Manchester in 1993, bridges the medieval and contemporary eras. Her paintings draw their inspiration from the Italian Renaissance, theatre, Federico Fellini’s films, and fashion. Embracing imperfection and incompleteness, her paintings seek to evoke impressions, movements rather than freeze a precise reality.
