Description

Discover two brand-new exhibitions at the Château! Dive into the world of twenty international artists with “Revez-vous de moutons électriques” and explore Ardèche artist Marion Fayolle’s unique universe, where drawing and writing intertwine.

From October 17, 2026, two new exhibitions will take place at the Château.

“Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” will bring together around twenty international artists for a reflection on digital technologies, the mechanisms of memory, and new forms of fiction that shape our perception of reality.

At the same time, an exhibition dedicated to Marion Fayolle will reveal the unique world of the Ardèche-born artist, where drawing and writing intertwine to explore the connections between people, bodies, and landscapes.

Presented at the Château for the first time, these two exhibitions invite visitors to explore territories that are both different and complementary, from technological fiction to the most intimate emotions.

Loosely inspired by Philip K. Dick’s science-fiction novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the exhibition explores the links between technology, space and imagination.

During the Renaissance, the invention of perspective profoundly transformed the way the world was represented. By introducing depth into images, it created new forms of illusion and projection. Today, these mechanisms find a new expression in virtual spaces with invisible geometries. Blurring perception and fiction, they absorb our lives and gradually reshape our inner landscapes.

Through paintings, sculptures, drawings, videos and installations, the exhibition maps out this in-between space where reality and simulation merge. Spread across the two floors of the Château d’Aubenas, it offers a poetic journey inspired by the immersive logic of video games. Between memory palaces and digital architectures, fragmented avatars and forms of autofiction, one question runs throughout the exhibition: what if we are already dreaming of electric sheep?

MARION FAYOLLE
Curators: Mathilde Compagnon and Clémentine Planche

The Château presents an exhibition dedicated to artist Marion Fayolle, born in 1988 and originally from Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut in Ardèche.

An illustrator, graphic novelist and novelist, her practice moves between drawing and writing. Unrestricted by conventional forms of creation, Marion Fayolle blends genres and narratives: images tell stories, while words become drawings.

This fluidity also emerges in her representations of the human body. In the artist’s writings and drawings, characters merge, intertwine, multiply or break apart through contact with people they encounter, loved ones, or the landscapes they travel through.

Expressions of relationships and emotions, these figures become metaphors for what remains unseen. In this exhibition, drawings and words invite visitors to reflect on the ambivalent feelings that move through us. Through immersive installations, visitors are invited to step into the lines of the characters and become part of this poetic narrative.
