Maison Jean Ferrat
Description
The Maison Jean Ferrat stands on the square in Antraigues, a village full of character perched on its basalt rock. The artist, who came here in the 60s, found his haven of peace "in this land of wind, broom and heather" and settled just a few miles away.
The cultural space, created in 2013 in a former café-hotel, was conceived and designed by his wife Colette. His aim: "To use the testimony of a humanist man and his work as the basis for a project to create a living space for exchange and reflection on musical creation. It was very important for this house to be located in the village square, where Jean felt at home and invested a lot of time and energy.
The Maison Jean Ferrat organises shows, conferences, exhibitions, workshops and other events from time to time, with the aim of helping people discover or rediscover the work of the author, composer and performer, as well as passing on his convictions and commitments.
The Maison Jean Ferrat is accessible to people with reduced mobility on three levels, only the mezzanine does not have a lift.
For groups, coach parking is compulsory at the bottom of the village in the Remise car park - close to the RD 578.
