Gardens of the Priory
Description
Magnificent English-style and French-style gardens.
This French-style garden was originally a vegetable garden and orchard that supplied the needs of the monastery. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Duchesse de Choiseul turned it into a French-style pleasure garden, with pruned yew trees and rare species. Along the avenue are two sculptures by Jacques Coqillay: the bronze statue named 'Vagabondage' and 'Corinne' in the lovers' bedroom.
