Description

The chapel in Veroce was built between 1705 and 1707 through donations from the Revenaz brothers from Le Pontet, merchants who immigrated to Poland. The restoration of the chapel in 2021-2022 has restored the 18th-century decoration of the altarpiece, which was repainted in the 19th century.
The chapel in Veroce was built between 1705 and 1707 through donations from the Revenaz brothers from Le Pontet, merchants who immigrated to Poland. They financed the construction of the chapel as well as the founding of the school. Its patron saints are Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Saint Joseph and Saint Mammes. The chapel is rather large, especially in height. Its extremely pared-down interior décor is represented by a large wooden altar painted with imitation marble topped with a painted altarpiece depicting the Madonna sitting in clouds, hovering over the figures of Saint Mammes dressed as a bishop, Saint Joseph holding a lily and Saint Jucunda holding a palm branch.
